2016 marks 100 years of automotive development for BMW. Established as an aircraft manufacturer in 1916, and shifting to motorcycles and automobiles later, BMW has been reinventing and adapting itself to changes.The centenary year for BMW is not just about celebrating its iconic marvels of the past but about focusing on the future of mobility. The VISION NEXT 100 presents concepts of the future of four of its brands through “Iconic Impulses: The BMW Group Future Experience”. BMW has unveiled VISION NEXT 100 concepts of BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce so far. The World Premiere of BMW Motorrad concept will debut on 11 October in Los Angeles, USA.

Speaking on the VISION NEXT 100, Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of BMW AG, said.

Our vision is for future mobility to be effortless, available on demand and tailor-made for all customers and for their individual needs.

The Ultimate Driver

BMW has affirmed that driver will remain to be in focus in the future. This emphasizes its tagline of “Sheer Driving Pleasure”. Also, BMW has said that the VISION NEXT 100 will turn the driver into “The Ultimate Driver”. VISION NEXT 100 will have technologies that allow drivers to hand over the control of the car. As a result, Mobility, Connectivity, Autonomous driving and digitalization are expected to shape the means of transportation in the coming years.

The company has continually evolved and, in some cases, reinvented itself. That will continue in the future.
